The Green Howards Regimental Museum is the museum of the Green Howards infantry regiment of the British Army.
An absorbing story of friendship and adventure, service and sacrifice. The rich history of this famous regiment is told through the eyes of the soldiers who served. Originating in Somerset in 1688, but linked to this part of Yorkshire for almost 200 years, the Green Howards have seen it all, earning 18 Victoria Crosses along the way, including the only VC awarded on D-Day, now on display in the stunning Medal Room.
Special exhibitions highlight particular elements of the museum’s extensive collection. No trip to Richmond is complete without a visit to this fascinating and engaging museum displaying personal possessions alongside military equipment, uniforms, unique treasures, famous Mousey Thompson furniture, paintings and silver.
