Knebworth House, Park & Gardens, world famous for its concerts and for being a backdrop to countless iconic films and TV shows, is a striking country house just off the A1.
The various stunning gardens have been at Knebworth House since a least the 17th Century, with the present layout dating largely from the Edwardian era. The architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, who married into the Lytton family, simplified the ornate beds and statuary of the Victorian garden with lawns and avenues of pollarded lime trees and created ‘garden rooms’ with each area having a different feel depending on the planting. Inside, the house is a wonderful mix of each generation of the Lytton family, with relics and heirlooms reflecting the rich history of the house and its stories – from literature to politics and the memorable concerts.
